Starting the New Year With Hope
National Human Trafficking Awareness Month
January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month! Dedicating this month to awareness for such a widespread human issue presents a powerful opportunity to spread hope for change. Every day that any individual is exploited or deprived of their freedom is one day too many. This month we can stand in solidarity with survivors and advocate for a world where every person is safe, valued, and free from the horrors of human trafficking. Change happens one step at a time! What step can you take today to contribute to the fight against trafficking?
Learn something - come to our anti-trafficking training on January 16
Share something - talk to a friend about what you know (or don't know!)

Safe House Update
Thanks to our generous donors, our outpatient clients enjoyed a wonderful Christmas season, celebrating the holiday together and feeling overwhelmed by the kindness of our community. At the end of the year, our residential program faced some unexpected changes, resulting in a brief period without occupants in the safe house. We are reviewing applications for new residents and anticipate their arrival in the coming weeks.
At this pivotal moment, we remain dedicated to empowering survivors and supporting our community. We will continue to serve our outpatient clients and facilitate the intake process for new residents. Our efforts in prevention and awareness will continue as we collaborate with schools, first responders, businesses, churches, and other organizations. This unique moment offers an excellent opportunity to focus on staff development and organizational growth. We received a staff wellness grant from Wellspring Church that will allow our team to take a retreat in the Santa Cruz mountains and receive training from our sister organization Edens Glory. The current vacancy will also enable us to carry out essential renovation work at the home. We are renovating the garage of the safe house to make it a trauma-informed classroom space with a collective partnership from Yellow Brick Road, Carmel Stone, and Cyrus Morse Construction! If you would like to help us with this project, you can visit the renovation wish list below.
In all of this we have hope! Join us in prayer for our staff as we regroup and welcome new residents in the coming weeks.
