Set Free Monterey Bay is an anti-trafficking organization established to assist adult women (ages 18 and over) sex trafficking survivors to find healing in a faith-based restoration home and to educate the Monterey Bay community about human trafficking. Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, we work with each resident to create and implement an individualized life plan. We provide 24-hour care in a holistic, family-like environment. Set Free Monterey Bay began in 2018, received non-profit status in 2020, and we opened our safe house in 2022. We have assisted 23 women in achieving safe lodging, critical care services, and crisis stabilization. Over the last 6 years, SFMB has trained 1,408 volunteers and service providers in trauma-informed care. We have passed out over 360 gift bags to women living in vulnerable communities and on the streets. We continue to multiply our impact by educating nearly 1,900 community members annually, including law enforcement agencies, medical personnel, and business owners, in an effort to prevent at-risk women and children from being trafficked. Thank you for joining us in the mission to end modern-day slavery!
