Summer 2021 Newsletter

Dear Friends of Set Free Monterey Bay,

We are excited to release the third installment of the Set Free Monterey Bay quarterly newsletter! Please continue reading for an update on two key SFMB initiatives: (1) immersion and development of our relationship with our sister program, Eden’s Glory; and (2) announcement of our first annual fundraising auction on Saturday, November 13 from 6-9pm at Corral De Tierra Country Club. This is a forward-friendly email so please be sure to share with anyone you think may be interested!

Eden’s Glory Immersion

In August, Program Coordinator Ashley Chesney traveled to Illinois to visit our sister program, Eden’s Glory. She spent a week there, fully immersed in the work and program that EG is running with their residents. Ashley runs a survivor-based class called “Ending the Game” with the ladies virtually, once a week and also has mentored another resident for the last year. Having a prior relationship with the women of Eden’s Glory, it was extremely special to have in-person contact. We got to understand more about the ins and outs of daily programming, how to problem-solve as a team, and continue to build our friendship and professional relationship with Eden’s Glory. After 12-hour days full of training, heartbreak, laughs, and a lot of prayer, Ashley returned to SFMB with confirmation and a re-ignited purpose from the Lord.

All are welcome, please invite anyone who may be interested in learning about and supporting our organization. Purchase Tickets Online Today!

If you are interested in donating an auction item, gift-in-kind, or sponsoring the event, please fill out the “Set Free Donor” form. And, If you would like to purchase an 8-person VIP table please fill out the “Set Free VIP Table” form and please email either form to kindra.ann.events@gmail.com. Both forms can be downloaded here.

Many of you have walked with us these last few years and we feel honored to still have you alongside us.

We feel God is moving us in an upward trajectory and we are finally on the brink of obtaining a restoration home. We appreciate your continuous support and look forward to seeing you all on November 13th!

Property and Funding Update

SFMB's commitment to securing property and launching a fully-operating home with staff and programming requires an approximate budget of $750,000 for the first year. This budget also includes the down payment of the home, all associated closing costs, and furnishing. We then have an annual budget of $250,000-$350,000 to maintain operations.

Since April, we have raised $30,000 and have $72,000 in the bank. Our current burn rate is $4,000 per month which is allocated to survivor support, outreach/education, and our part-time staff.
