Educating Youth on the Reality of Human Trafficking

Prevention Begins in the Classroom

Children are the most vulnerable population to human trafficking in the United States. The U.S. Department of Justice estimates that 100,000 to 300,000 children are at risk of being trafficked every year, with the average age falling between 11 and 14. It has never been more important for quality education and awareness to be made available to children in our school systems.

Set Free Monterey Bay has created an engaging curriculum in accordance with California’s Human Trafficking Prevention Education and Training Bill (AB-1227) that educates elementary, middle, and high school students on the reality of human trafficking and how students can develop awareness and prevention for themselves and others.

We work directly with educators and faculty to make sure they are in accordance with California’s mandatory training, and provide curriculum to make it a reality.

We dream of a world where people won’t need to be rescued from being trafficked. Part of realizing that dream come true is educating younger generations to recognize the predatory practices of traffickers and avoid their traps. We equip thousands of young adults every year to fight for their freedom and resist those who seek to enslave them.
