Winter Update & Giving Tuesday Invitation

Our Mission: End Human Trafficking.

Without a safe place to go upon exiting the life of exploitation, 80% of sex trafficking survivors will be re-victimized. Set Free Monterey Bay’s two-year restoration home can bridge the gap for survivors upon their exit. We are committed to not only providing safe housing for survivors but also walking with them as they find a new way to live, all while following the example of Jesus.

2022 proved to be an amazing year for us.

Set Free Monterey Bay launched four and a half years ago with the vision of operating a restoration home for survivors of human trafficking. This year the Lord led Set Free Monterey Bay to open the only restorative care program of its kind in the tri-county area. We devoted ourselves to learning with and from survivors, as well as our friends at  Eden's Glory , which resulted in the formation of an exemplary program of healing and care. We shifted our focus from being a funneling referral source and paused outreach efforts to focus solely on the needs in the home and the survivors who live in it. And the Lord has blessed us abundantly in these endeavors:

  • We opened our residential home on July 1st, 2022

  • Since opening, the residents have completed a total of 10 classes that incorporate life skills, healing trauma work, recovery, and a spiritual-based curriculum.

  • We added 3 more staff members to the SFMB team in 2022.

  • We trained 3 law enforcement agencies within Monterey County on human trafficking prevention and alternative practices for survivors.

  • We trained 70+ volunteers and service providers in trauma-informed care.

  • We passed out over 180 gift bags to women living in vulnerable communities and on the streets.

  • We raised over $57,000 at our 2nd Annual Fundraiser on November 12th.

Through the prayers and donations of supporters, we have been able to enter this year with a new confidence in what the Lord is doing within our organization and beyond. We are believing and agreeing for justice and healing for survivors of exploitation.

We can’t do this without you.
