Fundraiser Invite with January 2023 Update

National Human Trafficking Awareness Month

Since 2010, the United States has dedicated the month of January as National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Efforts are made by our government and organizations around the world to increase education about the issues surrounding forced labor and sex trafficking. It is in this month especially that we are reminded of the many who have linked arms to support our organization and we celebrate your partnership with us. For example, your gifts made the holidays at our restoration home beautiful and bright. Those who pray are spiritual advocates for our residents to our generous God. Deep healing and powerful restoration is happening at our home in Monterey County, and we couldn't do it without you! We are so grateful for you and for the opportunity to serve trafficking survivors in our community. As this month comes to a close, we also encourage you to consider how you may take additional steps to learn about, pray for, or give to Set Free Monterey Bay.

Safe Home Update

Here is a brief update and prayer request from our Executive Director, Ashley Chesney: The last few weeks of January have proved to be challenging for our safe home due to the unprecedented weather in Monterey County. The storms contributed to a lot of schedule adjustments, mental health irregularities, and barriers for potential intakes. As the sun began shining again, however, we also had a resident start her first semester of college, a past resident reach out for services again, and a new staff member join our team! We ask for prayer as we close out this month for the sustainability to provide the best possible care for our current and future residents.

Fundraiser for SFMB: February 13th

On Monday February 13th from 5pm - 7:30pm, Twisted Roots Wine will host a special evening for the ladies in our community! At this unique Galentine's wine tasting event, we will not only celebrate the female friendships that make our lives so beautiful, but also to learn more about and fundraise for Set Free Monterey Bay. A portion of all ticket sales will be set aside to financially support SFMB, so mark your calendars and bring a friend. We are so excited to partner with Twisted Roots Wine and hope to see you there!
